I won’t return to die at mom’s: Freudian theory and homosexuality today

The question of homosexuality needs a new interpretative model, building on the dialectic of having and being (being the mother’s phallus/having the mother’s phallus in an object) that is yet to be formulated, because Freud’s approach to this clinic is limited to the register of having (or not). This seems to me insufficient. However, beyond the clinic of individual cases, we should also revisit the Freudian research in the social field, because while Freud makes the unconscious homosexual bond between the law-making heterosexual males the structuring principle of the social link, this perspective is ill-adapted to account for today’s homosexual groupings, which are founded on a love that is necessarily homosexual or, as Freud would put it, manifestly homosexual.
