Kidnapped, abducted, raped, or delighted to be kidnapped

After discussing men’s main conscious and unconscious fantasies as revealed in the myth of the abduction of Europa – namely kidnapping, abduction, rape, and rapture – the author raises the question of the presence of such fantasies in women. In doing so, he underlines the status of the fantasy as it is not necessarily wished to be realized. He concludes that all women are different and that femininity is an abstract concept with a thousand and one faces evolving from one author to another, from one century to another, from one culture to another, and that it is not up to analysts to decide which femininity a person should tend toward.
