As a result, social science archives, in turn, reflect this twofold historicity. This partly explains why they have been neglected by the usual institutions of preservation. The absence of interest may also be due to the history of the system of practices that condition archive systems. As preserved data, they cannot be reduced to mere archives, for they must remain accessible, available, and mobile.
