The journal of ethnographic observation kept in 2005 by a junior executive assigned to act as a subeditor reveals the work process of the executives and senior managers in charge of writing a document intended to demonstrate the sense of corporate social responsibility of a multinational group. The ethnographer describes the origin of the request, the discussions that took place over the successive drafts and the development of rhetorical, iconographical, statistical and layout tricks to communicate without saying too much.
