This article focuses on the possible combinations of social innovation and territory. In addition to theoretical reflections, we examine the case study of the Loubeyrat-based Combrailles Durables (a grassroots renewable energy foundation) in Puy-de-Dôme, France. The issue we examine is whether this form of social innovation involves a specific geographical deployment that needs to be viewed differently. We develop the idea of idea of innovative and inclusive territorial interstices ( interstices territoriaux innovants et solidaires, ITIS).
