After having presented a hypothesis on the origin of addictions, the author refers to G. Delisle’s theory to bring out the indispensable and the intolerable in the experience of the drug addict. He so demonstrates that it concerns a pathology of the bond such that, central to the therapy, the attachment is at stake. He then surveys some essential items in taking charge of the drug addicts.
