Supported by her experience in accompanying anorexic persons, Mireille Gonin comments on the complexity of therapeutic work with these female patients. Torn between the desire to make good and the need to let go of control (on themselves as much as on others), thus running the risk of being engulfed by the loneliness anxiety that they went through at the perinatal stage, they fear taking from any relation “the good” which their mother was unable to offer. The right positioning of the therapist opens breaches in this shell.
