Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu’s film, Babel, serves as a starting point for the author to question the obvious in the work of supervision. A clinical case study illustrates this point of view. Taking into consideration the information gathered may provide meaning to one who tries to see, to hear and to feel. This methodological principle, flowing from phenomenology, aims to bracket beliefs and a priori’s in order to hear the reality of the therapist and to open to his/her uniqueness in relation to what is experienced in the therapeutic accompaniment. The work of supervision may also generate shame because the therapist exposes himself/herself in speaking about their practice. The quality of presence of the supervisor offers the therapist the necessary support to face a questioning that may be unsettling.
