The author names « being in awareness, or consciousness, of… », as one of the common points between Gestalt therapy and certain spiritual practices. Gestalt therapy emphasizes the ability to be fully attentive in relationship with others, and to sustain the continuity of awareness; for the therapist, for the patient and for both together. It is what the author calls « the meditative posture », a stance which is interesting to take when a « sensitive moment » arises. This posture is in line with the field paradigm and allows for creating the transition between the psychological and the spiritual.
