In this text, the author highlights what is dangerous in the therapeutic situation. By definition, a patient suffers. This suffering causes very particular ways of understanding what is happening in the session or in one's life. Its expressive forms are sometimes difficult to grasp by the therapist, whose tolerance can be reduced. Nevertheless, they are committed to an ethical conception of their responsibility, the therapist strives to find ways to adjust to the risks to be faced. The clinical situation described here shows some moments when this adjustment is delicate.
