The author defines the contours of three sets of values culturally and not biologically associated with femininity: the attention and care given to the body, the relationship to time and mystery, the taste for a life centered on the inside. Then she explores those that permeate the practice of Gestalt therapy. A clinical vignette illustrates the subject through the therapist’s relationship to time and patience. She shows the difference between a frontal type response and the ability to accept what is without suffering. She concludes with the feminist dimension of Gestalt therapy.
