Trauma: facing death
Type de matériel :
26
The author shows that encountering a traumatic situation is a confrontation with death because of the disappearance of all possible recourse. When the person escapes, a small “death” occurs at the very moment of the trauma, encrypted in oblivion. This experience is similar to the collapse described by Winnicott at the very beginning of life, which he called agony. This is why we experience it at the same time as failure of the attachment figure. The author deduces from this experience a specific position for gestalt accompaniment of people with post-traumatic stress syndromes.
