Beyond urgency, welcoming the rhythms of emergence in therapy

In this written duet, two distinct therapeutic paths show how the urgency of a request and the need to take one’s time can be articulated. Two patients, driven by a desire for a child, place the theme of time at the heart of their therapy. But there are several aspects of time involved: the time of sessions, the time of successive days, and the frozen time of trauma. The authors set out to illustrate the axes of work that seem relevant to breaking away from urgency and opening new perspectives.
