In a time when we’re increasingly scattered and codified, it’s common sense to say that we’re running out of time! But isn’t it our very existence that we’re letting slip away? For Heidegger, the question of time is what constitutes the human being. This is the foundation for recognizing our finite nature. This calls us to an existential imperative to choose our life, to surpass ourselves. This race distances us from our humanity. As therapists, our offices are increasingly visited because of anxiety, panic attacks, loneliness and burn-out, says the author.
