Public policies strongly encourage social and medico-social institutions to involve those most concerned. Today, rooted in the customs of professionals, we realize that these recommendations are difficult to implement. In child protection in particular, the mobilization of parents is not conclusive. In this article, we highlight a few elements of understanding, particularly by looking more precisely at who the parents of children in care are and what their daily lives are like.
