Developing the employability of job seekers: The ethical dimension of an intervention

The boundary between social and training work has become increasingly blurred. This article describes how this sectoral shift is taking place. After defining the scope of adult training and focusing on training schemes for job seekers and vulnerable groups, the article questions the practitioner’s action and position from the perspective of work in the field: is he a trainer or social worker? To conclude, the text addresses the ethical dimensions of the intention to train individuals in employability. Indeed, this intervention with others is not neutral regarding the professional ethics of the trainers who are engaged in this social act.
