Working on the construction of the identities and professional conduct of future social workers involves implementing innovative approaches to the study of concepts. For ten years, the Regional Social Work Institution (IRTS) of Perpignan has offered its learners the opportunity to experience questions of otherness, and to work on meeting others in territories where language, culture, customs, and religions disturb codes and benchmarks. The here and elsewhere is not a “comparative study” between living areas, but a personal exploratory journey where the student will have to implement and develop skills to meet the individuals who inhabit these spaces, in particular questioning his own attitude. This text provides their testimony.
