The gilets jaunes in France: The desire for something else at last
Type de matériel :
93
The gilets jaunes movement is a mini earthquake caused by the collision of two “tectonic plates” making up society: the system and the lifeworld. The system of power and economy on one side, the world as it is lived in on a daily basis by social subjects on the other. Seen from Switzerland, these outbursts reflect some of the clichés about the uncontrollable and grumbling French. However, we can see that behind the exuberance and “mania” of walking down the street, a true social “unrest,” anger, and suffering are at work. As a result, we feel less different and more concerned, we want to better understand the citizen uprising of our neighbors. That will be the first part of our contribution.
