The medicalization of life: Controlled childhood

Medicalization processes are today as much at the heart of speeches as they are at the heart of social work practices. There is no limit to the examples allowing us to consider what we could call a major epistemological shift. The hypothesis of this article is this change, which seems to reach a peak in current practices, and is rooted in the logic of control and normalization of child behavior initiated at the dawn of humanity. Thus, and in our opinion, medicalization and control are intimately linked.
