Building on her qualitative research on healers and unrecognized care practices in Lorraine, as well as her experience as a trainer and then training manager in social work, the author proposes, through case studies, to contribute to the thinking on the powers of the invisible in the various dimensions of support provided by social work professionals. Her reflection is nourished by over fifteen years of experience, which sheds light on the intersections between the invisible and social work and the associated challenges in social workers’ professional practices.
