The report written by the historian Benjamin Stora published on January 20, 2021, on the subject of memorial issues relating to colonization and the Algerian War, responds to a mission entrusted to him by the President of the Republic. In a conversation with Tahar Khalfoune, the historian and the jurist discuss the reception of this report in France and in Algeria, as well as the controversies that these memorial issues raise. Finally, they propose an analysis of the way in which this colonial legacy and this culture of war structure the national imagination on both sides.
