While the public seems aware of the ecological emergency, political responses are slow to materialize. Joëlle Zask and Éric Pommier are wary of state-of-emergency policies that could lead to deprivations of liberty, or even to what some call a “green dictatorship.” They are, however, convinced that democracy is fully compatible with the ecological transition.
