Funding loss of independence: On the urgency of changing tools
Type de matériel :
41
The author proposes a reconsideration of the current debate about the extent of loss of functional independence, a matter that is too often treated as a technical or administrative one, to the detriment its other dimensions: economic, ethical, and political. He reveals why, in his point of view, there is an urgent need, at the present time when the debate about funding loss of independence is being launched, to profoundly modify the prevailing rules regarding the distribution of these funds. He recommends abandoning the tools currently being used, which do not address the present challenges: funding in accordance with health trajectory, taking into account the appropriateness of decisions in the medical as well as in the social field.
