This paper proposes to reflect on the possible return of trauma and the treatment of mnemonic traces in lack of appropriation in subjects with major cognitive disorders, based on a clinical situation.Through the collection of stereotyped manifestations in a subject, followed by one of the authors, we question the actualization of identity problems calling upon primary processes, and raising the return of historical traumas, in the environment and temporality of a resident in a residential institution.The articulation of the clinic of forgetfulness in neuro-evolutionary disease with the notion of reflexivity brings a particular relief to the effort of continuity of identity, to the disintegration - to the loss - of the self and to the lack of historicization.
