In Israel, as in other parts of the world, populism has a close relationship with religion, notably through the mobilization of emotions with a strong religious tinge, such as fear or disgust. As a sociologist of emotions, Eva Illouz shows how, in populist movements, the religious dimension of these emotions reinforces the boundaries between the groups to which one belongs, especially in Israel.
