Color revolutions–and especially the Orange Revolution in Ukraine–highlight how the democratic question became a tool used in the field of "the information war" between different actors. Information became a key issue in international relations after the Cold War. This article describes the strategies deployed from Moscow to contest the activities of numerous Western states and Euro-Atlantic NGOs. The author analyzes how the question of democracy in post-Soviet Russia highlights the realities of a new Cold War and its related mythologies.
