AFP: Questioning the ethical rectitude of journalists working for information agencies

The aim is here of leaving the juridic and economic ground, generally selected to approach the AFP, and to prefer a sociological approach to it which is interested in priority in daily work of the journalists. The traditional model of excellence of the journalism of agency was called into question by the recent economic trends in the information market, the hyper-competition and the will of the French State to disengage itself somewhat financially. Therefore, the journalists of agencies complain about a loss of reference mark which hinder their work of hierarchisation of information. And the production of information is also made more delicate since the sources developed resources and strategies to use the media in their plan of communication, while trying to place itself as coproducteurs of the news, with the risk to make AFP a journalism of recording.
