This paper deals with the limits of communication when scientists build it on promises. Such a way to communicate may reinforce phenomenon of mistrust and rejection from public opinion. The paper defends the idea that the main goal of communication by researchers towards public opinion should be to enlighten society about its choices. This goal implies to build the conditions of trust and dialogue between citizens and scientists to make decisions on research orientations real choices of society.
