Experimenting on new patterns of political communication usually induces people to expect Internet to be an open space for speech and dialogue. But computer mediated communication is also, and mainly, a place where political objects and stances become shaped. Especially, the purpose of giving access to every element of a possible debate frequently turns out not to make speech visible, but to pretend that it can be done. For, the issue of free speech hides the reality of a complex of written and documentary devices that provides a background to the discussion, to such a point that, sometimes, speech framing may substitute for real expression.
