In this period of pandemic, as in humanitarian disasters and during periods of confinement, people suffering from chronic diseases (diabetes, pulmonary diseases, hypertension, psychic diseases, renal insufficiency, situations of handicap…) or oncological diseases pay a heavy price, because they become the forgotten of the event, communication by political or health officials relayed by the media focusing almost exclusively on the disaster event. In addition to the comfort care and pharmacology that we are familiar with in palliative care, there is a whole part of this philosophy of care that is being abandoned because of measures to restrict human presence. In particular the management of the distress of relatives (spouse, child, siblings, parents), rituals, mourning, not to mention the inequities in access to care in vulnerable countries.
