In Mexico, our work team conducted a research project titled “Développement d’un modèle de soins en santé mentale des migrants autochtones de la région métropolitaine de Guadalajara” (“Development of a Mental Health Care Model for Indigenous Migrants of the Metropolitan Region of Guadalajara”)1. A book was published on the basis of this research: Manuel sur les soins de santé mentale pour les migrants autochtones dans la région métropolitaine de Guadalajara (A Manual of Mental Health Care for Indigenous Migrants of the Metropolitan Region of Guadalajara) (University of Guadalajara, 2016).During the project, we carried out multiple interviews with indigenous migrants, giving us the opportunity to hear the stories of a population suffering from depression. In this article, we present an emblematic case among those from the Mixtec population—or rather, in their own language, Ñu’u savi: rain people.
