Stigmatization in mental health in the context of the pandemic. Clinical observations and initial questions

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2021. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : During a study on so-called “chronic” psychiatric care system patients at the time of their “transition” to a medico-social structure, we focused on their experience of stigmatization in these two “worlds.” This notion, which is complex to grasp, is rich in clinical issues. The WHO, when it evokes the stigmatization of people with mental disabilities, speaks of a second disease, as research shows a very negative impact of stigmatization on the outcome of people suffering from a mental disorder. In light of the current health context, and measures to contain the epidemic, it is necessary to re-examine these data. What are the consequences, for this already stigmatized population, of the pandemic? And what perspectives and clinical questions emerge from our initial observations?
