Psychologists, psychiatrists, and general practitioners: Essential partners for patients
Type de matériel :
21
Direct access to psychological care is a public health imperative. It is currently hindered by an overly medical-centric conception of health in France. This organization of French public health based on a nineteenth-century paradigm is detrimental to the establishment of a partnership between health professionals for the benefit of patients and with patients. It is necessary to move away from a logic of compulsory medical prescription of care and to value the expertise of each profession within the framework of partnership relations. Psychologists have proposals for alternative organization that have been forwarded to the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.
