Iatrogenic acute urinary retention caused by paroxetine
Type de matériel :
38
We report the case of a young patient followed for ten months for a social phobia and who, after two months of treatment with paroxetine, presented with a progressive-onset dysuria complicated by acute urinary retention, motivating a change in treatment to escitalopram. The iatrogenic origin associated with taking paroxetine was retained after eliminating other particularly infectious, traumatic, or tumorous possible etiologies of urinary retention.
