Digitalization, automation in psychiatry: What human guarantee?

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2023. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Digitalization has turned the world upside down, with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies bringing about profound transformations. In medicine and health, this evolution, driven by an expanding bioeconomy, is underway, impacting care, prevention, health, organizations, and training. However, AI, which is often highly disconnected from the reality of clinical practice, is not without risks. Faced with this, the French-style Human Guarantee or the European Human Oversight currently under discussion to regulate the use of AI only partially address the issues it poses. Psychiatry, which is particularly concerned by the development of AI via the “brain-computer” model and its wealth of big data in mental health, has the specificity of understanding the complexity of clinical practice. Theoretically as well as practically, it can make a decisive contribution to a Strengthened Human Guarantee to make sure that the use of AI is marked by collective wisdom.
