Whereas scientific observation considers the observed object as distinct from the observer, psychoanalytic observation, focused on the unconscious which is an invisible object, necessarily involves both the analyst and the patient, the observer and the observed object within the transference situation. Studying this field, which encompasses the analyst’s and the patient’s unconscious, we are open-mindedly searching for openings and emergences, listening to their internal turbulences.
