Drawings are often the way children choose to express themselves in a clinical setting, both individual and group. Understanding how to "listen" more effectively to drawings is a fundamental issue for any child clinician. While the drawing function can be understood in its universal sense, the transcultural approach makes it possible to grasp the singularity that each drawing reveals. This is why we developed T-MADE, a transcultural method to analyze children’s drawings, and to decipher the multiple levels of the multiethnic worlds of children that the graphic trace reveals. This article presents the T-MADE method in detail in order to enable every clinician confronted with children’s drawings to analyze them.
