What is the future for transport in cities?

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2019. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The development of shared robotaxis and robobuses could greatly change transport in large conglomerations according to Patrick Pélata who recently spoke at the École de Paris du management. He referred to several simulations which took place in certain cities (Lisbon, Helsinki, Auckland, and Austin) which indicate a great improvement in traffic and parking, a substantial increase in the number of suburban trains, and the disappearance of the most unprofitable buses. Where will these changes take place? In Singapore, Helsinki, China, or the United States? How are France and other countries in Europe preparing for this? A transportation battle is looming, and new companies with platforms, such as Google and Uber, as well as public transportation companies such as the Parisian RATP, car manufacturers, car rental companies, energy providers such as ENGIE, and service providers for smart cities all have a role to play.
