This article aims at a critical description of Corsican as it is spoken today in its new fields of application, namely on the radio. The corpus analyzed here concerns the news heard over the local Corsican station Frequenza Mora ('Mauresque modulation') during a period of approximately one year. The radio is like a mini laboratory in which to observe an original plurilingualism forged in part by the radio news programs and their commentators. Particular attention has been given to the varieties of Corsican used by replacing them in their dialectal zones and by noting their dynamics such as the complexity that comes of the interplay between languages.
