Langage et société: the conjunction of coordination et as indicator of complexity and heterogeneity This contribution explores the relations between language and society implied by the use of the conjunction of coordination « et (and) » in the title of the journal, both in its history since 1977, and in its present form. Its pluri-disciplinary ambitions are re-examined and its anthropological aim unveiled, particularly as concerns the definition of new orientations connected to the internationalization of information, public opinion, legality, and the social importance of clinical approaches and investigations into cognition.
