"The aim of this article is to realize a sociolinguistic analysis of bisexual desire by focusing on the use and linguistic expression of Eugene Wilhelm’s personal diary (1885-1951). The analysis is based on a Harissian and a lexicometric study of the lemma ‘desire’. Further, by means of a diachronic study, it highlights how a bisexual trajectory can be built. While admitting that linguistic practices are socially and historically located, I intend to show that the linguistic expressions of desire fall in a dual dynamic. First, writing about desire overcomes a lack ; second, it permits the production of a type of knowledge which defines, turns primordial and satisfies limited desires. Finally, my analysis shall focus on how illegal rules and social norms within the 20th century bourgeois society may be overcome and redefined."
