The Christian subject in a cyberworld

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2014. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The cyberuniverse, by facilitating the democratization of knowledge, places the subject at the centre of the process of the quest for truth. In this new context, within which both the subjects and the truth they hold have to be constructed, there are two ways in which light needs to be shed on the relationship that the Christian subject should maintain with the cyberworld. The first of these comes from the perspective of a question in fundamental theology: can we speak in Christianity of a truth that is to be constructed, when Christ tells us that he is “the way, the truth and the life”? The author shows how theological reflection has injected dynamism into the approach to the truth in Christianity, situating it in a dialogical and eschatological perspective. The second light requires that we reflect on how to construct the Christian as a subject in a digital context. Delineating pathways for which there are no guideposts, the challenges of an inward listening and of the kerygmatic proclamation of the Christian faith and, finally, the care to be devoted to mediating fraternity to intersubjective exchanges are all relevant avenues and means that need to be taken into account when offering guidance to Christian subjects today.
