Not so long ago, monasticism and Protestantism were thought to be incompatible. This was not the view of Brother Roger, founder of the Taizé community. A community that emerged from within Protestantism, Taizé is today known as an ecumenical community with numerous Catholic brothers that has not seen the rift between Churches as an obstacle. As it welcomes new generations, it seeks ways of moving from protesting to attesting.
