In view of the 2023 Synod on synodality, the encyclical Fratelli tutti sheds light on the importance of the social bonds of friendship forged at the local level, because they allow us to enter concretely and progressively into a more universal fraternity, open to differences. This perspective can help to improve synodal processes, and to better integrate the expertise of families, while at the same time introducing them to beneficial practices of listening and dialogue.
