Listening to women and their experiences as believers, this article describes the Church as a place that is wounded but alive. The future of synodality depends on this clear hope, which unfolds over three stages: the courage of seeing the ruins of communities, listening authentically and respectfully to life experiences, and finding synergy between the existential and the institutional. The Church can pass through this difficult moment in time if she is able to recognize herself not only in the figure of the Good Samaritan, but also in that of the wounded person who is agonizing on the side of the road. This requires that she overcome all that prevents people from expressing themselves, their needs, and their desires. The Church of tomorrow depends on her consciousness of her own wounds and her capacity to listen to people’s experiences of life.
