In the exercise of the task entrusted to them, ministers of the Gospel encounter fragility in different ways: in their own humanity, in the faith journey of their brothers and sisters, in the crises to which the Church is exposed on her journey among cultures, and in the very figure of the Church, entrusted to the superabundance of grace and to the freedom of each individual. It is at these crossroads that we are invited to experience the life-giving power of God’s grace in our weakness. Paul’s experience in his correspondence with the Corinthian community can inspire the meditation we need.
