Memory Trans/National Perspectives. European Contexts”. The author, who is associated with the official commemorative processes in France, Australia, Ireland, and, to a lesser extent, Belgium , observes from these four examples the prevalence of an individual and familial culture of remembrance towards the conflict, on the fringe of the academic and official communities.
