In recent years, the topic of support has aroused growing interest, as evidenced by the number and diversity of contributions on this theme. SMEs, given the current crisis context and because of their characteristics, need support throughout their life cycle and especially in their development and innovation projects. In this article, we present the results of an empirical study carried out on the creation of a support structure. We will highlight the importance of taking into account the skills of its actors. This study is of dual interest. First, the quality of support is closely linked, among other things, to the skills of the support staff and their ability to carry out their missions. In addition, on an organizational level, the profile of these support staff and their skills are determining factors in the collective performance of the support structure and its development.
