Child sorcerers are a new and growing phenomenon in Kinshasa. Children are accused of sorcery mainly by evangelical churches. Families who believe in the claims of church leaders are convinced that their children are sorcerers. Children are then accused of being at the source of all the problems faced by their family. The hoodoo is broken by practices that seriously affect the well-being of the children. This paper discusses the link between the development of churches and the phenomenon of child sorcerers.
