Do the Economics of Knowledge Have a Place in African Developing Countries?

Following the debates on human capital and endogenous growth, the economics of knowledge raises in its turn the question of the impact of knowledge on economic growth. In the context of NTIC, several conditions must apply jointly, including a sufficient average level of education, physical and educational infrastructures ready to allow the transfer of knowledge, and curbs on "brain drain." We examine whether these conditions are met in African developing countries.
